UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Four members of the 2014 Nittany Lion women's lacrosse team - Tatum Coffey (Toms River, N.J.), Evan Foulsham (Madison, N.J), Lauren Purvis (Maple Glen, Pa.), Whitney Reddig (Lititz, Pa.) - were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Academic Honor Roll, the organization announced.

The Penn State contingent was among 238 student-athletes recognized for their academic excellence. To be eligible for the honor roll, student-athletes must have achieved at least junior status academically and earned a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5. As a team, the Nittany Lions achieved IWLCA Academic Honor Squad status after garnering a team grade-point average of at least 3.0.

A broadcast journalism major, Coffey started all 18 games during her junior season and ranked fourth on the team with 39 points (25g, 14a). The Toms River, New Jersey, native, who earned Capital One Academic All-America® honors in 2013, also collected 18 ground balls, 16 draw controls and eight caused turnovers.

Foulsham, who majored in recreation, park and tourism management, appeared in all 18 games in 2014. The defender gathered 22 ground balls, 12 caused turnovers and seven draw controls during her senior season.

A kinesiology major, Purvis garnered American Lacrosse Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors after leading the conference in caused turnovers per game. The Maple Glen native finished her senior season with 29 caused turnovers, 27 ground balls and eight draw controls.

In 2014, Reddig appeared in six games and totaled one ground ball for the Nittany Lions. The rehabilitation and human services major was also a member of the Penn State field hockey squad, along with Purvis, during her time in Happy Valley.

During the 2014 season, the Nittany Lions recorded their fifth straight 10-win season and advanced to the NCAA tournament in three straight seasons for the first time since 1995-97. With the additions of Maryland and Rutgers to the Big Ten, the league will sponsor women's lacrosse for the first time in 2015. Penn State will open Big Ten play with a trip to Rutgers the weekend of March 26.
