Engineering alumni society seeks volunteers for resume review event

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State Engineering Alumni Society is seeking alumni volunteers for its annual student resume review.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 12 in Kunkle Lounge in Hammond Building, on the University Park campus. It is intended to help students prepare their resumes prior to meeting with prospective employers during Penn State’s Fall Career Days, which will be held Sept. 16-18.

Alumni volunteers will meet with students in 15-minute time slots to critique their resumes and offer feedback. Lunch will be provided.

Jennifer Theiss, director of alumni relations, said volunteers do not need to participate the entire day. “The more alumni volunteers we have, the more engineering students we’re able to help prepare for the Career Fair," she said. "Even a few hours of their time will be appreciated.”

Representatives from the Engineering Career Resources and Employer Relations office will also be available to answer students’ general career questions.

Volunteers are asked to sign up by Aug. 28 at http://tiny.cc/fca6jx.
