Smeal's Breon lauded for leadership in business school technology organization

Ginger Breon, assistant dean for administration and chief information officer for the Penn State Smeal College of Business, has been named the 2014 recipient of the Krueger Award, which recognizes outstanding impact and leadership in the service of the Technology in Business Schools Roundtable (TBSr).

Breon manages the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation process for Smeal and oversees the Business Building’s infrastructure. Additionally, she is responsible for developing and implementing the information technology strategy for the college and participates in the college’s overall strategic leadership team.

“Ginger is responsible for much that happens behind the scenes to make Smeal a cutting-edge business school that offers transformative student experiences and facilitates impactful faculty research,” said Charles H. Whiteman, John and Becky Surma Dean of Smeal.

The Krueger Award is named for Don Krueger, an information technology and human resources professional who retired from San Francisco State University as director of projects and planning in 2013. The award is presented annually to TBSr members who have helped shape the organization into a vibrant, collaborative forum for business school IT leaders.

The TBSr, of which Breon is a founding member, was formed in 2004 to provide business school technology leaders an opportunity to share ideas and best practices and to collaborate with their colleagues at other schools accredited by the AACSB.
