Aug. 7 Healthy Aging Lecture Series to focus on communication strategies

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State Center for Healthy Aging will host “Talk or Text? Communication Strategies as We Age,” as part of its Healthy Aging Community Lecture Series at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 7 at the Ruth Pike Auditorium in 22 Biobehavioral Health Building.

The lecture will be presented by Jon Nussbaum, professor of communication arts and sciences, and human development and family studies. The presentation will address communication across generations and how to achieve a higher quality of life through relationship engagement and enhanced communication.

Shuttle rides to the HUB-Robeson Center are available for this lecture. Those who wish to take the shuttle may park at the Porter North parking lot (Medlar Field area) off Park Avenue. Center staff will provide parking permits and direct attendees to the shuttle stop. From there, Molly Trolley will transport participants to the HUB, which is a short walk from the Biobehavioral Health Building. Shuttle rides begin at 9:45 a.m.

The lecture series is a community partnership developed and sponsored by the Penn State Center for Healthy Aging, The Village at Penn State, Mount Nittany Medical Center, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Penn State, Foxdale Village and Home Instead Senior Care.
