UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State football fans who want to guarantee their season seats for games with Ohio State, Big Ten newcomer Maryland, the Senior Day clash against Michigan State and all seven home opponents can still do so for a limited time before partial season and single game sales begin next week.

Entering his first season as head coach, James Franklin’s Nittany Lions will host two teams that finished in the top 10 last season and welcome Maryland to Beaver Stadium for the first time since 1992. Penn State also will host Big Ten foe Northwestern Sept. 27 in its 95th Homecoming game. The unbeaten and Rose Bowl Champion 1994 team will be recognized at the Sept. 6 home opener vs. Akron, one week after the Aug. 30 season opener against University of Central Florida in the Croke Park Classic in Dublin, Ireland.

More than 4,000 new season tickets have been sold for the 2014 campaign and the price of season tickets remains the same as the past two years at $385 for the season ($55 per game). Season tickets now represent a savings of as much as 7 percent over the cost of single game tickets. More than 94 percent of 2013 Nittany Lion season ticket holders have renewed their seats for the upcoming season. Penn State annually has one of the nation's largest season ticket bases, which includes 21,000-plus full-season student tickets, the second-largest in all of college sports.

Season tickets remain available in all seating zones of Beaver Stadium. Alumni and fans can buy their Penn State season tickets and make their Nittany Lion Club donation, which supports student-athletes, online at GoPSUsports.com/seasontickets, while viewing and choosing their own seats online by utilizing Virtual Venue. New season tickets, and information about tickets, also are available by calling 800-NITTANY, weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Public ticket sale begins July 15

Alumni and fans will have the opportunity to purchase a new partial season ticket (four games) and public single game tickets for this season starting on Tuesday, July 15. Fans are able to choose their own single game seats online by utilizing the Ticketmaster Interactive Seat Map. The sale will begin at 10 a.m. with single game tickets available at www.PSUnrivaled.com. Partial season ticket plans are available only by calling 800-NITTANY.

Partial season ticket plan includes home opener and three Big Ten games

Fans can purchase the partial season ticket plan and single game tickets by calling 800-NITTANY or at the Bryce Jordan Center box office beginning at 10 a.m. July 15. All partial season and single game tickets made available to the public will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

The partial season ticket plan includes the Akron, Ohio State, Maryland and Michigan State games and represents a nearly 5 percent savings from the single game prices. Current season ticket holders are eligible to purchase the partial season ticket plan to complement their season tickets. Fans can purchase the partial season ticket plan by calling 800-NITTANY or at the Bryce Jordan Center box office beginning at 10 a.m. July 15. There is a limit of 10 partial season tickets per buyer. Season tickets and the partial season ticket plan will be the exclusive chance to secure Ohio State tickets, subject to availability.

"We are continually striving to provide as many ticket options as possible to allow each fan to customize their experience at Beaver Stadium while aggressively protecting the value and benefits of our passionate season ticket holders,” said Jeff Garner, assistant athletic director for ticketing sales and service. “We feel we have provided options that will work for any fan’s budget and being sensitive to their valuable time commitments. New for this year is our four-game Partial Season Ticket plan, which includes the night game against Ohio State. We think many fans will find this to be a perfect fit for their specific needs."

Single game tickets available for $40

The 2014 football season will see the launch of variable pricing for public single game tickets that will provide more pricing choices for Penn State alumni and fans. Tickets will be available for as low as $40 for the Akron (Sept. 6) and Massachusetts (Sept. 20) games, compared to $70 for the lowest single game ticket in 2013. There is a limit of 14 tickets per game, per buyer. Special benefits are available for qualified group outings of 20 or more and 50 or more by calling 800-NITTANY.

"We’ve worked extremely hard to consider all of the factors that affect our fans experience each weekend in the fall,” Garner said. “After reviewing Nittany Lion Ticket Exchange data, single game ticket patterns and prices, peer school trends and most importantly, our fans’ feedback, we are happy to offer our variable price model. Variable pricing provides fans with more options to fit each dedicated fan’s personal, family or business needs."

Fans interested in purchasing single game tickets can review the single game seating chart by price and refer to the FAQ on the new variable pricing system at www.gopsusports.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/011414aab.html or contact 800-NITTANY.

Public single game tickets are not available for the Oct. 25 primetime clash with Ohio State, which is a Penn State White Out game. Single game tickets for the 8 p.m. contest vs. the Buckeyes are available exclusively to Nittany Lion Club members via the NLC member sale or with the purchase of new season or partial season ticket plans.

Advance parking for each home game can be purchased as part of the July 15 ticket sale as well. General parking purchased in advance is $10, while paying to park on game day when arriving to the general lots will cost $40. Fans are encouraged to purchase parking passes in advance to not only realize the substantial savings, but to assist in smoother traffic and parking operations as well. Fans can purchase up to three advance single game parking passes per account.
