Registration is required at http://wp.me/P3b4X9-CC.The world is awash in data these days, but making it a useful and actionable part of the daily activities of higher education remains a challenge. Over the last few years learning analytics have made great strides to improve algorithms for finding meaningful traces in the data and visualizations for presenting them. In order for these tools to have a meaningful impact on university teaching and learning, we need to begin to consider and design for the ways in which they become a part of (and change) the activity patterns of instructors and students.Wise, associate professor of educational technology and learning design at Simon Fraser University, will present a powerful vision of how learning analytics tools and higher education pedagogy can be integrated to support students’ learning agency, instructors’ learning designs and the interactions between the two, all while working within the scope of the university course. For more information, go to http://wp.me/p3b4X9-CA.
