UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State women's track and field squad is ranked sixth in U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USFTCCCA) final 2013-14 Division I Program of the Year standings.
"It is exciting for our program to earn such a high ranking on the DI Women's Program of the Year list," said Head Coach and Director of Track & Field Beth Alford-Sullivan. "This demonstrates what we try to produce each year, a balanced program that is successful all three seasons. This level of accomplishment also reflects in our program producing a lot of points for the final Director's Cup results as well. I am proud of our amazing student-athletes, my staff and our total program."
Two other Big Ten programs, Michigan State (8th) and Michigan (9th), are present in the Top 10 standings.
A small group of the Penn State track and field squads will travel to the USA Senior Championships beginning Thursday, June 26.
