Talk to focus on Video Exchange Learning Platform

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Center for Online Innovation in Learning will host "The Video Exchange Learning Platform and Strengthening Online Learning Outcomes: A COIL Conversation with Patricia Butler" from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, June 26, in Room 413 of the 329 Innovation Boulevard and online at https://meeting.psu.edu/coil.

Registration is not required.

ArtistWorks has created a Video Exchange Learning Platform (VELP) that, at its core, keeps teaching and learning in context throughout the online experience. Online video curricula contain specific video submission assignments based on the lesson subject. When students submit videos in these pre-determined categories, the teacher records a Video Response addressing the needs of the student, providing a continual refinement of the syllabus subject for the entire class, yet giving the student specific instruction. Because of the asynchronous nature of Video Exchange, the teacher’s time is leveraged and the student’s schedule is more liberated.

Butler, the co-founder and president of ArtistWorks, will demonstrate the VELP pioneered by ArtistWorks for subjects such as music, dance, art, business, law and sign language.
