Engineering's Staff Advisory Committee plans ice cream social for faculty, staff

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State's College of Engineering's Staff Advisory Committee is hosting an ice cream social to thank engineering faculty and staff for their service to the college.

The event will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Friday, June 20, at Foundry Park, located behind Hammond Building on the University Park campus.

Several celebrity scoopers have agreed to participate, including Penn State women's basketball head coach Coquese Washington and Penn State men's basketball head coach Patrick Chambers, as well as college department heads and administration.

The social was planned as part of a community building initiative, established by Amr Elnashai, Harold and Inge Marcus Dean of Engineering, which aims to encourage strengthening of affiliation and sense of community among the college's faculty, staff and leadership.

The College of Engineering Staff Advisory Committee's mission is to foster an ideal workplace while enhancing the stature of the college by serving as an advocate for staff.
