Researchers craft strong presence at international communications conference

A large, productive and well-respected contingent of Penn State communications researchers has crafted a hefty presence at the International Communication Association (ICA) conference, scheduled May 22 to 26 in Seattle.

Thirteen faculty members, 20 graduate students and five College of Communications alumni have produced 31 papers or presentations, and faculty members will serve on three separate panels during the 64th annual conference that will attract researchers from around the world.

ICA is an academic association for scholars interested in the study, teaching and application of all aspects of human and mediated communication. ICA began more than 50 years ago as a small association of U.S. researchers and is now counts more than 4,800 members in 77 countries. Since 2003, ICA has been officially associated with the United Nations as a non-governmental association.
