Author to speak at Penn State Schuylkill

In honor of Pennsylvania’s 2014 River of the Year, there will be a special presentation at Penn State Schuylkill from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, in the John E. Morgan Auditorium. Author Chari Towne will present on her book "A River Again." Towne is the Schuylkill watershed specialist for the Delaware Riverkeeper Network.

"A River Again" is an inspiring book about the mid-20th century Schuylkill River Project, the first major government-funded environmental cleanup of its kind, which dredged millions of tons of coal silt from the river.

Books will be available for purchase, and Towne will sign copies after the presentation. This event is presented by the Schuylkill River Heritage Area in Partnership with Penn State Schuylkill.

This is a free event, but please register at www.ariveragain.eventbrite.com or call 484-945-0200 to reserve a seat.
