Summer 2014 student parking registration begins

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Student parking registration for summer session 2014 begins today (April 29). All students taking classes during Maymester, Summer Session I or Summer Session II are eligible for a student parking permit, regardless of semester standing.

Off-campus student registration

-- Applies to students who will be living off campus for summer 2014. Permit options will include the following:

Commuter: Lot 44, Stadium West and Porter North. This permit is for off-campus students in need of campus parking for class and other campus activities but who have overnight parking at their off-campus residence.  With this permit, parking on campus between the hours of 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. is prohibited, seven days a week.

Long-Term Storage: Lot 43. This permit is for off-campus students in need of overnight storage of their vehicles.

Access to additional campus parking lots is available to permit holders on weekdays beginning at 4 p.m. and is available throughout the day on Saturdays and Sundays (see Student Parking Map).

On-campus student registration

- Applies to students who will be living on campus for summer 2014. Resident parking lots are available to permit holders 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with additional access available after 4 p.m. on weekdays and throughout the day on Saturdays and Sundays (see Student Parking Map). Permit options will include the following:

Resident Core: Brown 11 (White Course Apartments), Lot 22 (Eastview Terrace), Lot 42 (Nittany Apartments), Lot 81 (Pollock and South Halls), Lot 82 (East Halls).

Resident Long-Term Storage: Lot 83 (available for all eligible on-campus students).

Registration details

Permit registration can be completed online or at the Parking Office, located at 1 Eisenhower Parking Deck. In order to complete registration, students will need their Penn State ID, full local address, and the license plate information.

Registrations completed online may be charged to the student's bursar account or paid with a major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover). In-person registrations may be paid by cash, check, money order or LionCash+, in addition to credit card or bursar charge. A complete rate list can be found at the Student Parking Rates page.

All Summer Session parking permits are held at the Parking Office and will be available for pickup beginning at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 6. Normal business hours for the Parking Office are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

A new registration and permit delivery system for student parking will be in place for fall 2014/spring 2015. All student parking permit registrations (excluding upgrades) will be completed online and all permits will be delivered by mail. Full details of this new registration system will be announced on Monday, June 2.
