Next ‘Conversations LIVE’ continues discussion on Lyme disease

University Park, Pa. – According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention nearly 300,000 Americans contract Lyme disease every year, with the number of tick-borne infections on the rise.

WPSU-TV’s next installment of "Conversations LIVE" will examine recent science on the incidence, diagnosis and treatment of Lyme disease. Subject experts will join veteran host Patty Satalia for the discussion.

The 60-minute show is interactive, taking viewers’ phone calls, emails and questions via Twitter. "Conversations LIVE: Lyme Disease" will air at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 24, on WPSU-TV, WPSU-FM, WQLN-TV in Erie and online at www.wpsu.org.

Joining Satalia are Daniel Cameron, private practice doctor and president of the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society; Julia Wagner, president of both the PA Lyme Resources Network and the Montgomery County Lyme Information and Support Group; and Jane Huffman, professor of biological sciences and director of the Wildlife DNA Laboratory at East Stroudsburg University.
