Winners of Beaver's annual Undergraduate Research Fair are announced

Penn State Beaver announced the winners of the 13th annual Undergraduate Research Fair held recently in the Student Union Building. Twenty-five campus students participated.

Students were required to work with a faculty mentor in researching their topic and preparing an oral and/or poster presentation in communications, psychology and sociology.

Poster Winners:
First Place – Arts and Humanities
Student: Taylor Braxton, junior, communications, Moon Township
Topic: “Growing Up Disney: Do African-American Disney Fans Adopt Eurocentric Standards of Beauty?”
Faculty Mentor: John Chapin, professor of communications

First Place – Social Science

Second Place – Social Science

The planning committee was chaired by Irene Wolf, senior instructor in philosophy. Chapin and Fontes were members of the planning committee and Chapin also served as a judge.
