Presentation on dangers of heroin hosted by Penn State Berks

READING, Pa. -- Detective Corporal Pasquale Leporace from the Berks County District Attorney’s Office and Penn State Berks Police Chief Kevin Rudy gave a presentation titled “Heroin – Its Long, Deadly Reach” at 1 p.m. Monday, April 14, in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium at Penn State Berks.

State Senator Judy Schwank and District Attorney John Adams also were in attendance.

This informative and lively presentation about the new epidemic of an old drug discusses how heroin has made a comeback as a drug of choice with today's youth. It is cheap, accessible and deadly. Almost daily, the news media features a story about a death from the use of heroin. The new trend of mixing the prescription drug fentanyl with heroin is a particularly deadly combination.
