Davis wins top editor's prize for poetry

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Todd Davis, professor of English at Penn State Altoona, won the top 2014 editor's prize from literary journal Chautauqua for his poem, "The Last Time My Mother Lay Down With My Father."

The honor comes with a $500 award and the poem will be nominated for a Pushcart Prize.

Davis is the author of four books of poetry, most recently, "In The Kingdom of the Ditch."

Chautauqua is an annual journal of creative writing supported by Chautauqua Institution and produced in partnership with the Creative Writing Department and Publishing Laboratory at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
