Group wins Best Team Synergy award at 2014 Smeal Case Competition

Penn State Greater Allegheny was one of 16 teams selected to represent the Smeal College of Business and the Commonwealth Campuses at the fourth annual Smeal Case Competition, sponsored by Kohl’s. Team Greater Allegheny won the Best Team Synergy award. Each winning student received a certificate and a Kohl's gift card. 

According to its website, the Smeal Case Competition is an undergraduate competition that challenges students' knowledge, problem solving abilities and teamwork skills to solve realistic business problems in a demanding 24-hour format. 

Team members from Greater Allegheny were Amanda Alhaj, Shawn Downey, George Madden and Andrew Pricener. Associate professor of business administration Michelle Hough served as the Penn State Greater Allegheny team adviser. She said, “Our team worked very hard and did a great job. I am proud of their teamwork on this challenge and the business knowledge that they have attained.”
