More than 175 ninth-grade female students from area high schools convened at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, for a day-long event March 27 focused on exploring career opportunities in the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM). Students participated in hands-on sessions, interactive opportunities, and an array of activities to learn about the educational and career possibilities available in these fields.
Sponsored by Fayette’s Commission for Women, the activities included presentations by Fayette faculty in nursing, physical therapy, engineering, arts, math and science, and activities by Gina Russell of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's District 11-0.
