EdVenture2014 set for April 24

At EdVenture2014 on Thursday, April 24, the Penn State Hershey community will celebrate educational accomplishments, learn about new teaching methods and continue to shape the education mission. L. Dee Fink, founding director of the Instructional Development Program at the University of Oklahoma, will present the 2014 Woodward Lecture, “Medical Education: Changes That Can Make a Big Difference.” The lecture will begin at noon in Lecture Room D. Fink will also present a workshop at 1:30 p.m. titled "Want Your Students to Learn More? Designing Your Educational Activities for More Significant Learning.” Lunch will be provided starting at 11:30 a.m.

The Education Celebration will continue from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Keystone Ballroom of the Hershey Country Club. It will include food, refreshments and posters that highlight educational and research activities performed by faculty and staff. The evening ceremony will also honor the recipients of the Distinguished Educators’ Junior Faculty Teaching Awards and recognize the 2014 Distinguished Educators.
