Admissions welcomes incoming freshmen at Understanding Financial Aid Workshops

Penn State Greater Allegheny student aid officers will offer workshops from 6:30 to 8 p.m. March 31 to April 4 in the Ostermayer Room in the Student Community Center.

“Understanding financial aid packages and the costs of attendance can be challenging for new students and their families,” said Lou Anne Caligiuri, director of admissions.

The campus’ student aid counselors will be available to families to explain the details of the students' financial aid packages. Generally, financial aid packages are made up of support from different sources including scholarships, grants, loans and student work study. Additionally, families will learn about the differences between estimated billable costs (tuition, fees, and room and board for resident students) versus estimated non-billable costs such as books and supplies, transportation and miscellaneous expenses.
