24-hour walk to help fight cancer

Milton Hershey School (MHS) will host a 24-hour community-wide walk event (rain or shine) at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, until 11 a.m. Sunday, April 13, on the school’s campus at Henry Hershey Field. The event will begin with an opening ceremony before kicking off the 24-hour relay walk at 11 a.m. An optional 5K race will also start at that time, including one lap around the track at Henry Hershey Field, followed with walking or running a 5K course on the MHS campus.

The 24-hour walk is open to all members of the greater Hershey community. Inspired in part by the work of the Milton Hershey School Alumni Association Cancer Care committee, the walk is a chance to bring the community together to celebrate cancer survivors, honor those presently fighting, and memorialize those who have succumbed to cancer. Part of the event proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society, which supports research efforts at Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute.
