Office hours with business development, marketing expert available

The Penn State Hershey Office of Technology Development is hosting Office Hours with Global Sales Initiatives (GSI) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at the Hershey Center for Applied Research. GSI’s founder and principal, Kevin Smith, will offer consulting sessions on business development and marketing strategies for new technologies or spinoff companies.

Smith has more than 20 years of experience in international leadership working with Fortune 500 companies such as Philips and AMP Inc. He has developed expertise in business development, sales and marketing for emerging companies and technologies. Smith founded Harrisburg-based Global Sales Initiatives, which has since grown to reach markets around the world.

During the consulting sessions, participants will learn about GSI’s expertise in building, developing and restructuring sales plans and models to help startup companies increase their growth and production. GSI specializes in developing effective business development and marketing plans that utilize existing strengths to help a technology successfully reach its target market.
