Penn State Berks to host Ben Franklin Medical Device Group

Penn State Berks will host the upcoming meeting of the Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania Medical Device Group from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, in room 121 of the Gaige Technology and Business Innovation Building. The Penn State University Materials Research Institute (MRI) will present at the meeting, which is free and open to the public.

David Fecko, industry liaison at MRI, will present an overview of the Institute and how its capabilities and services may benefit guests’ organizations. Jason Moore, assistant professor of mechanical engineering at Penn State, will present some of his current projects that include new techniques and tools in the medical industry. Both Fecko and Moore are based at Penn State University Park in the new state-of-the-art facility; more information on the MRI is at www.mri.psu.edu.

The Greater Reading Economic Partnership (GREP) will provide bus transportation from Reading on Wednesday, May 7, for individuals interested in touring the Nanofabrication Lab and the Materials Characterization Lab at the MRI. The trip will complement a formal, public open house that day from 1 to 4 p.m. GREP will provide information about the bus trip at the March 26 meeting.
