Tickets for Frozen Apple at Madison Square Garden go on sale Feb. 28

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- General public tickets for The Frozen Apple between the Nittany Lion men's hockey team and Cornell, scheduled for 8 p.m. on Nov. 29 at New York's Madison Square Garden, will go on sale Friday, Feb. 28 at 10 a.m.

Before the general sale, a pre-sale for Nittany Lion Club members and season ticket holders will run Wednesday, Feb. 26 through Friday, Feb. 28. Nittany Lion Club members and season ticket holders will receive purchasing information through a special pre-sale email arriving, based on priority, later Tuesday and Wednesday.

Prices for the Thanksgiving-weekend matchup start at $25 for adults, with VIP Penalty Box/Rinkside Goal seats on sale for $250. Tickets will be available only through the Madison Square Garden box office and online at Ticketmaster.com.

When purchasing online, fans can access the Nittany Lion seating block by selecting Penn State on the drop-down menu. Penn State seating can be found in the following sections: 109-111, 113, 212-219, 221-223. Student tickets, which will cost $15, will go on sale on campus at a later date.

The Nittany Lions, who have played at National Hockey League venues in both Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, will make their first appearance at the home of the NHL's New York Rangers. The teams will face off during Thanksgiving weekend for the first time as NCAA Division I foes. During Penn State's early varsity years, the Nittany Lions and Cornell met in Ithaca, N.Y., Feb. 5, 1944.

Penn State will continue the 2013-14 season this weekend when it faces off against No. 2/2 Minnesota Feb. 28-March 1 in its final road trip of the regular season. Friday night's game will air live on BTN at 9 p.m., while puck drop Saturday is set for 7 p.m. on NBC Sports Network.
