Admissions office to host upcoming events

Penn State Greater Allegheny’s Admissions department is planning two events for incoming students and their families. The annual Blue and White Scholarship Luncheon will be held on Saturday, March 1. The event brings together donors with incoming scholarship recipients and their families. The event also features recent alumni, who started their Penn State careers at Greater Allegheny and who were Blue and White Scholarship recipients, as speakers at the event.Lou Anne Caligiuri, director of admissions and financial aid, reports that this event is especially meaningful as it brings all constituencies of the Greater Allegheny community together to honor some outstanding entering students. "With donors and alumni, as well as faculty, staff and current students joining in the celebration, our new students and their families have the opportunity to really experience the community that is Greater Allegheny."

The Admissions department is also holding a chancellor’s luncheon for incoming students who have been offered a Chancellor Award. These students and their families can enjoy a lunch on campus and meet Interim Chancellor Nancy L. Herron. This event will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, in the Ostermayer Room in the Student Community Center.

“The chancellor’s lunch gives students the opportunity to meet the chancellor of our campus. The students interact with each other and begin to feel comfortable in the University setting,” said Caligiuri. For more information about Admissions events, call 412-675-9010 or email psuga@psu.edu.
