More than 20 Beaver students participate in THON

Last weekend, 24 Penn State Beaver students and a staff adviser traveled to the Bryce Jordan Center, Penn State University Park, to participate in THON, the largest student-run philanthropy in the world.

Audrey Zanath, a junior education major from Aliquippa, Pa., and Matthew Downing, a junior science major from Elgin, Ill., were Beaver’s dancers and they were accompanied by 22 Beaver students known as “moralers,” who were there to provide comfort and support for their friends. Beaver campus students raised approximately $15,000 for THON, although a final total of funds raised will be announced. Beaver students also raised $15,000 for THON last year. The students were accompanied by Parker Goolsby, THON adviser and Beaver campus residence life coordinator.
