Free 'Foundations of Investing' workshop offered for faculty, staff

A free financial management class, “Money at Work 1: Foundations of Investing” will be sponsored by TIAA-CREF from noon to 1 p.m. Feb. 21 in 431 James M. Elliott Building for faculty and staff.

Reaching retirement goals requires the same things: spend less, save more. It doesn’t matter how old you are, where you are in your career or how much you make. It’s really that simple. TIAA-CREF’s workshop leader will give you information to help you figure which investment vehicles are right for you -- discover what stocks, annuities, mutual funds and IRAs are so you can determine which ones best fit your needs. Learn about risk and finding your risk tolerance, and see how the same savings principles work for short- or long-term goals.

Light refreshments will be provided. To register, go to Money at Work 1 or call TIAA-CREF at 800-732-8353.
