Sociology faculty member publishes article in professional journal

A member of the sociology faculty at Pennsylvania College of Technology was published recently in Sociological Viewpoints, the journal of the Pennsylvania Sociological Society.Vinay Bahl, associate professor of sociology, wrote an article titled “Muslim Women’s Attire and Identity Politics,” offering insight on the issue culturally, politically, economically and historically.Sociological Viewpoints is a peer-reviewed journal published annually. The Pennsylvania Sociological Society provides a forum for communications for sociologists working in diverse settings: education, industry, government, voluntary associations or solo practitioners.Bahl has taught sociology at Penn College since 1996. She holds a doctorate from the State University of New York at Binghamton. In 2002-03, she was invited as a visiting scholar to the College de France, Paris.
