Eight named distinguished professors

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs has named eight faculty members as distinguished professors.

College of Agricultural Sciences

-- Ottar N. Bjørnstad, professor of entomology and biology
-- Margherita T. Cantorna, professor of molecular immunology

Penn State Altoona

-- Sandra Harbert Petrulionis, professor of English and American studies

College of Health and Human Development

-- Linda M. Collins, professor of human development and family studies and statistics

College of the Liberal Arts

-- Robert C. Marshall, professor of economics
-- Joan T. Richtsmeier, professor of anthropology          

College of Medicine

-- Dr. Mark D. Widome, professor of pediatrics

Penn State Wilkes-Barre

-- Anatoli F. Ivanov, professor of mathematics

Distinguished professors must be current, full-time active members of the faculty holding the rank of professor; not currently hold an endowed chair, professorship or faculty fellowship; and be acknowledged leaders in their fields of research or creative activity.
