Participate in blood drive and benefit THON

The American Red Cross and Penn State Beaver will host a blood drive that will benefit not only those in need of blood, but pediatric cancer patients as well. For every donor who participates, the Red Cross will donate $4 to Penn State’s Dance Marathon (THON), which provides funding and support for children at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center Children’s Hospital.

The blood drive is open to the public and will be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 6, in the Beaver campus Student Union Building Lodge. Donors must bring their ID. THON will be held Feb. 21-23 at Penn State University Park’s Bryce Jordan Center. To date, THON has raised $101 million dollars for the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey. Funds are used to aid in cancer research and provide family services for children with cancer as well as their families.
