Guest artists to bring musical genius to the School of Music

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Every semester the Penn State School of Music offers free master classes that give students and the public access to incredibly talented professional musicians. In small group settings, the musicians play their music, answer difficult questions and offer sage advice.

Upcoming masterclasses are:

Double bass masterclass with Timothy Dunin, professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Graz, Austria, 8:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 128 Music Building II

Piano masterclass with Jeremy Denk, Musical America 2014 Instrumentalist of the Year, 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, Esber Recital Hall

Flute masterclass with Conor Nelson, professor at Bowling Green State University, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, Esber Recital Hall

Percussion masterclass with Phillip O'Banion, assistant professor at Temple University, 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 122 Music Building II

All masterclasses are free and open to the public.
