Students to host A Night with Gatsby charity ball

Students from the Heart In Hand Alliance, an outreach program of Penn State College of Medicine and College of Nursing, will present a very special charity ball and silent auction to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities in February.

The gala will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center.

The theme for this inaugural event is A Night with Gatsby. The evening will include dinner, entertainment, dancing, a fabulous silent auction and a few surprises one could only expect at a Gatsby event. The silent auction includes everything from sporting event tickets to travel packages, restaurant gift cards and more. The dress for the gala is black tie optional, and attendees are encouraged to dress to the Gatsby theme.

On a twist of the question found in "The Great Gatsby," students are asking the Penn State Hershey community "Who is Gatsby?" Each department is asked to nominate a person in their department who best represents the four pillars of Penn State Hershey: education, patient care, research and community outreach. Nominees will be voted on via donations. The winner with the highest amount of money raised will be revealed at the end of the gala as Gatsby.
