Talk to center on U.S. and the coming technology revolution

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Mathew Burrows, director of the Atlantic Council’s Strategic Foresight Initiative, will present "Envisioning 2030: U.S. Strategy for the Coming Technology Revolution" at 4:35 p.m. Jan. 29 in 220 Hammond Building.

The event, sponsored by the Strategic and Global Security Program, Engineering Leadership Development Minor and School of International Affairs, is free and open to the public.

Burrows will discuss the new report "Envisioning 2030: U.S. Strategy for the Coming Technology Revolution," which extends the National Intelligence Council report "Global Trends 2030: Alternative Worlds."

Burrows is the principal author of the Global Trends report and served as counselor and director of the National Intelligence Council's analysis and production staff.

The original Global Trends report was intended to stimulate thinking about the rapid and vast geopolitical, social, economic, scientific and technological changes characterizing the world today and possible global trajectory during the next 15 to 20 years.
