UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Fans interested in watching Penn State men's hockey during the holiday season can purchase tickets to the Three Rivers Classic, to be held at Pittsburgh's CONSOL Energy Center from Dec. 27-28.

The Nittany Lions will join No. 6/7 Boston College, Bowling Green and Robert Morris at the home of the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins. Penn State will face off against the Colonials Dec. 27 at 7:35 p.m. and will battle either Boston College or Bowling Green Dec. 28. The tournament's consolation game will begin at 4:35 p.m., while the championship is set for a 7:35 p.m. faceoff.

Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster.com (use code "LION" to sit in the Penn State section) and at the CONSOL Energy Center Box Office. The box office, which is located through the Trib Total Media Gate at the corner of Centre Avenue and Washington Place, is open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tickets are available in one- or two-day packages.

In last year's event, more than 22,000 fans watched the Nittany Lions in Pittsburgh with nearly 11,000 spectators at Penn State's 5-4 victory against Ohio State. Sophomore forward Casey Bailey (Anchorage, Alaska) led the Nittany Lion contingent with a career-high four points (2g, 2a) against the Buckeyes, while Pittsburgh-area native Matthew Skoff (McKees Rocks, Pa.) was stellar in net with 36 saves.

Penn State, which defeated Robert Morris by a 5-4 score earlier this season, will open the showcase against the Colonials for the second straight year. The Nittany Lions have never faced Boston College or Bowling Green.
