Larson Lecture to focus on need for transportation infrastructure investment

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The need for investment in America's transportation infrastructure will be the topic of the Thomas D. Larson Distinguished Transportation Lecture at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, in Penn State's HUB-Robeson Center's Heritage Hall.

Frederick "Bud" Wright, executive director of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), will present "Making the Case for Transportation Investment." The event is free and open to the public.

Wright served as executive director of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) from 2001 to 2008. Prior to that, he was the FHWA's program manager for safety and director of its office of budget and finance.

The AASHTO is a nonprofit, nonpartisan group advocating in transportation-related policies and provides technical services to support states in their efforts to efficiently and safely move people and goods.
