Praxair representative to speak at the EMS Energy Institute on Wednesday

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Larry Bool, a senior development professional for Praxair Inc., is the next speaker in the EMS Energy Institute's Energy Exchange Seminar Series. The talk, "Use of Oxygen to Improve Efficiency and Reduce Emissions from Combustion Systems," will take place in C213 Coal Utilization Laboratory from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20. Refreshments will be served a half hour before the lecture.

The presentation will cover some of the important characteristics of oxy-fuel combustion, typical ways oxy-fuel combustion is applied in commercial systems and examples of recent developments in oxy-combustion for power systems.

Energy Exchange is a seminar series hosted by the EMS Energy Institute as part of its outreach mission. The seminars focus on highly relevant energy topics especially in the area of fossil fuels. Energy topics discussed include new innovations in carbon dioxide utilization, clean coal, petroleum and natural gas, and fuel cells.
