Penn State trails after one week of Blood Donor Challenge; several drives coming

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – With the first week of the 20th annual Penn State-Michigan State Blood Donor Challenge over, Penn State trails Michigan State 398 units to 582.  

At Penn State, several drives are planned this week as part of the Challenge, which began Nov. 4 and runs through Nov. 21. Penn State leads the overall series 13 wins to six.

Drives set for this week:

-- 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, 124 Finlady Commons (Pizza from The Cove will be served.)

-- 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, Brill Hall, Eastview Terrace (Pizza from The Cove will be served.)

-- 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, N201 Millennium Science Complex

-- 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, Waring Commons, West Halls

-- 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, Rec Hall, mezzanine, main gym     

-- 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, North Halls, Warnock Commons

-- 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, HUB-Robeson Center,  Heritage Hall

Each donor will receive a Challenge T-shirt while supplies last, plus every drive will feature food at the canteen.

Donors are urged to eat well and stay hydrated before donating. A form of ID is required to donate. Appointments are strongly recommended and can be made at http://visitingpsuredcross.org.
