Oriana Singers to perform 'A Ceremony of Carols' Nov. 10

Penn State's Oriana Singers will present a fall concert featuring a performance o"f A Ceremony of Carols" by Benjamin Britten at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, in Esber Recital Hall on the University Park campus of Penn State. Performed in honor of the composer's 100th birthday, "A Ceremony of Carols" features guest harpist Anne Sullivan. The choir is conducted by Lynn Drafall and accompanied by Gladys Duh.

Discantus, a chamber choir of Oriana Singers members conducted by Penn State music education student Alison Geesey, also will perform. Their repertoire includes Noel des enfants qui n'ont plus de maison by Claude Debussy, as well as madrigals and spirituals.

Tickets are $4.99 for the general public and $2 for students. Tickets are available at the door approximately 30 minutes prior to curtain. The concert also will be available through live streaming video at the Penn State School of Music.
