Impact Smeal Day to connect alumni with Smeal community

Penn State Smeal College of Business alumni are invited to a special Impact Smeal Day on Friday, Nov. 15, where they can connect with students, faculty and each other through a full day of activities.

“Impact Smeal Day is a new initiative to bring alumni of all ages back to campus to engage with our Smeal community,” said Jennifer Eury, director of alumni relations for the college. “Our full slate of sessions will offer something for everyone, and there are also opportunities to learn about getting more involved in the Smeal Alumni Society.”

Alumni may choose from a number of sessions throughout the day, which will include opportunities to hear from faculty members about current research and to engage with students and other alumni on challenges and trends in various program areas.

“Our full slate of sessions will offer something for everyone, and there are also opportunities to learn about getting more involved in the Smeal Alumni Society.”

There also will be Smeal Alumni Society task force breakout sessions, opportunities to generate discussion about topics like work-life balance and much more.

Throughout the day, alumni may participate in Smeal Alumni Career Services appointments and CandidCareer filming sessions. CandidCareer is a tool for current students to review short informational videos of alumni discussing their careers. In the video, alumni answer a series of questions about their job and offer career advice.

The agenda will close with a Smeal Alumni Society Open Board Meeting, during which alumni can hear brief updates on the college and the alumni society, followed by a cocktail reception in the Business Building Atrium.
