Penn State Schuylkill to hold annual informative speech contest

Members of the local community, students, faculty and staff are invited to attend the annual informative speech contest at Penn State Schuylkill. The speech contest will be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 19 at the John E. Morgan Auditorium in the Student Community Center.

Two students from each of the five public speaking classes will be selected to participate in the contest. Each participant will present an informative speech to the audience and to a panel of three judges from the local community. Valerie Schrader, assistant professor of communication arts and sciences, will moderate. The judges will choose a first, second and third place winner. Those students will receive gift cards redeemable at the Penn State Schuylkill Bookstore. Light refreshments will be provided after the event.

All community members, students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend this event celebrating the accomplishments of Penn State Schuylkill’s public speaking students.
