Lehigh Valley Alumni Society to host Dance for a Cure event

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Penn State Lehigh Valley Alumni Society will host its second annual Dance for a Cure event, a fundraiser to benefit THON and the Four Diamonds Fund, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Nov. 8 at Mixx Nightclub and Sports Bar in Allentown, Pa. The event, which will feature a variety of dance styles that attendees can learn, is open to adults ages 21 and older, and tickets are $30 in advance or $38 at the door.

The event will offer the chance to learn and dance to a new style each hour, including Zumba, line dance, hip-hop and salsa, as well as the ability to participate in trivia for prizes. Additionally, there will be a silent auction including some Penn State items signed by football coach Bill O'Brien. Refreshments will also be available.

Dance for a Cure is organized by the society's THON alumni committee. The committee aims to support the Penn State Lehigh Valley campus THON team's efforts to help conquer childhood cancer which culminates each year in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon held at University Park in February.

The event is open to the public, but tickets are required. Tickets are available at the Penn State Lehigh Valley Bookstore, Allen Valley Dental, online at www.psulvalumni.org or by contacting Liz Gerancher at 484-358-5735.
