The second Heritage Banquet for Penn State Schuylkill and the surrounding community was held on Friday, Oct. 11. The theme for this year’s banquet was “Together we make one world.”
José Galvez, Pulitzer prize winner, was the guest speaker. He used his photographic images, taken over the past 40 years, to share a powerful historical record of the Latino experience in America. Galvez has made this his life work, using black-and-white film to capture the beauty of daily life of Latinos in America. His background and knowledge of the culture provided a depth of understanding that enabled him to share the stories behind his images.
