Schreyer Institute to offer workshop on motivating students

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence will present Motivating Student Learning from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, originating from 315 Rider Building with Polycom locations at 145 Thun Library (Berks), 236 Burke (Erie), E308 Olmsted Building (Harrisburg) and 10 Dawson (Worthington-Scranton).

Do your students seem to lack a strong work ethic, enthusiasm and a general desire to learn? Poor student motivation can be a barrier to learning. Join us for a discussion of what does — and does not — motivate students. You’ll learn research-based strategies for increasing student motivation. You’ll feel differently about your students and leave feeling empowered to motivate them. This program will be led by Crystal Ramsay, instructional consultant at the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence.
