Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence to offer ePortfolio workshops

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State's Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence will present two sessions of Creating an ePortfolio:  Enhancing Your On-Line Presence from 1:45 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, in Room 315 Rider Building and from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 17, in Room 315 Rider.

This interactive workshop focuses on how graduate students can create an online portfolio to document their teaching. Among the topics discussed are developing an online presence for the portfolio, choosing the right development platform, incorporating teaching materials in the portfolio and documenting your effectiveness as a teacher by interpreting SRTEs and providing evidence from teaching observations. This workshop is part of a three-seminar series focusing on professional development and preparation for the job market. All graduate students and postdocs are welcome to attend, especially individuals who plan to enter the job market soon.
