Three Abington student athletes earn honors

Double honors for senior soccer duo

Three Penn State Abington student athletes earned player of the week honors, and two of them receiving accolades from two different conferences.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) and the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III both named senior soccer forward Marco Paparo and goalie Dan Saint-Pol offensive and defensive player of the week, respectively.  Paparo scored three goals, and Saint-Pol had two shutouts and 11 saves.  The team received recognition last week, earning votes in a Division III national soccer poll for the first time in program history.

The NEAC also lauded Abington sophomore Monte Dunson as men’s tennis player of the week. He won four matches to help lead Abington to a pair of victories.

Abington fields 13 men's and women's teams, and is is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III. For more information on Abington Athletics, visit the official athletics website at www.abingtonsports.com
