Bascom to speak at pulmonary fibrosis event

A Penn State Hershey Medical Center physician will be among the speakers at an event on pulmonary fibrosis to be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey. Dr. Rebecca Bascom, a pulmonologist, will speak at the event, which is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (PA-IPF) Registry. There will be sessions for both patients and physicians, with continuing medical education credit provided.

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is a progressive and fatal lung disease with no known cause or treatment. The free event is part of the registry’s efforts to promote education and awareness, and to improve the lives of patients suffering from the disease.
