Penn State Lewistown Center to hold event for working adults Oct. 10

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Residents in Mifflin and Juniata counties are invited to apply for admission to Penn State education programs during a free information session at the Penn State Learning Center in Lewistown from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, at 152 E. Market St., Suite 100. Check-in and light refreshments will begin at 5 p.m.

“For the first time at a Lewistown Center information session, we will have an application station set up for adults who would like to enroll in Penn State programs, so they can walk through the application process one-on-one with an admissions counselor, from start to finish,” said Penn State Admissions Counselor Carli Donovan.

Attendees also can learn about Penn State’s wide range of education programs, including professional certificates and associate and bachelor’s degree programs in accounting, allied health care, business, education, information sciences and technology, human development and family studies, medical laboratory technology, nursing (accelerated bachelor’s degree) and other fields. In addition, attendees can get answers to their questions about resources to finance their education, including military benefits; transferring credits and earning credits for what they have already learned; career planning; and transitioning back to college.

Penn State Lewistown Center classes are held at convenient times during the evenings, on weekends and during the day, as well as online, to fit the busy schedules of working professionals.
