Laureate Womack to be featured speaker during Parents and Families Weekend

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State Laureate Kenneth Womack will be a featured speaker at University Park’s Parents & Families Weekend, which is set for Oct. 4 to 6.

Womack’s talk, titled "'Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!': The Evolving Artistry of the Beatles” will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, in Freeman Auditorium at the HUB-Robeson Center.

Womack is professor of english and integrative arts at Penn State Altoona, where he also serves as senior associate dean for academic affairs. He is the author or editor of numerous works of nonfiction, including "Long and Winding Roads: The Evolving Artistry of the Beatles" (2007) and "The Cambridge Companion to the Beatles" (2009). His next Beatles-related work, "The Beatles Encyclopedia: Everything Fab Four," will be released in February in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ legendary appearance on "The Ed Sullivan Show."
