Presentation to focus on local connection to Revolutionary War

Known as the 1777 Philadelphia Campaign, three battles fought in Chester County, Pa., will be the focus of a unique, animated map presentation at by Penn State alumnus Sean Moir.

“A Fortnight in Chester County: The Philadelphia Campaign of 1777” will be held 7 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 2, in The Conference Center at Penn State Great Valley, 30 E. Swedesford Road, Malvern. Moir combines his background in software development and geographic information systems with his personal interest in history, creating groundbreaking, animated battle maps, which have been incorporated into school curriculums and are on display at museums. This presentation will specifically address the conflicts of the Battle of Brandywine, the Battle of the Clouds and the Paoli Massacre.
