UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State Chamber Orchestra will perform a concert at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, in the School of Music's Esber Recital Hall. Tickets are $4.99 for general admission and $2 for students, and are available at the door 30 minutes prior to the performance. The concert will be streamed live at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/penn-state-school-of-music.
The performance features an early work by English composer Benjamin Britten, performed in honor of the composer's 100th birthday. The symphony was written in 1934, and is based on eight themes, which Britten wrote during his childhood (two per movement).
The Chamber Orchestra is conducted by Gerardo Edelstein.
